Microsoft and Yammer, a leading provider of enterprise social networks, announced that they have an definitive agreement in which the Microsoft will acquire the Yammer for $1.2 billion in cash. After integrating Yammer in Microsoft Office Division, the company will led by the division President Kurt Delbene.     



 


 






Since the Yammer launched in 2008, at instant it has 5 million corporate users, including employees from 85 percent of the Fortune 500 companies.The company team will continue working as it is from their office in San Fransisco and report to their current CEO David Sacks. Microsoft plans to accelerate Yammer’s adoption alongside complementary offerings from Microsoft SharePoint, Office 365, Microsoft Dynamics and Skype. 



“When we started Yammer four years ago, we set out to do something big,” Sacks said.

He added, “We had a vision for how social networking could change the way we work. Joining Microsoft will accelerate that vision and give us access to the technologies, expertise and resources we’ll need to scale and innovate.”
