Microsoft releases Customer Preview of the new version of Office, calling New Office. The new office has new user interface that works excellent with touch sense, stylus, mouse or keyboard in Windows devices.

The earlier UI has slightly changed to fit the Metro UI of Windows 8. Basically the new icons seems just like as in Windows 8. But still the old design remains in some case, so its just like the mix of old and new UI.

Although the New Office 2013 is targeted for the touchscreen, still there consisting some buttons with low optimization just like old design for mouse and keyboard.

You can swipe your finger over the screen or pinch  and zoom to read and edit your documents and presentations.Using stylus for notes and accessing features, handwriting recognition in documenting and using stylus as a laser pointer for presentation is awesome.



The new office saves your documents to SkyDrive by default for your backup as a function of Office Cloud feature. It is available as a cloud-based subscription service and as subscriber you will get future upgrades, multiple installs for multiple devices and extra SkyDrive Storage. All Windows devices like Windows Suface installed with Windows RT will ccme with pre-installed in them.


The new office 2013 will be available in three new editions for Windows and Macs. All of them includes the basic Office applications - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook, Publisher and Access.

Office 365 Home Premium : designed for home users with 20 GB of SkyDrive storage and 60 minutes of Skype world minutes per month.

Office 365 Small Business Premium : designed for small businesses with business-grade email, shared calendaras,website tools and HD webconferencing.

Office 365 ProPlus : designed for enterprise users for advanced business capabilities and flexibility to deploy and manage in the cloud.

The Office 2013 also supports the social networks like Skype, Yammer, People Card and integrated SkyDrive and they can be  on your screen controlling with your stylus.

However, the new Office is only supported in Windows 7 and 8, neither in Vista and XP.
